We have been on the hunt for great business casual clothes for the past 20 years. Back in the day, we wore suits everyday to work. We were funky with our shirts and ties the best we could be--while spending some $15,000 on neckwear alone to create a stand out look. Then came casual Friday’s---seemed like a dream come true for the guys that were saddled with a choke-hold around the neck 5 days a week. Then reality set in---we had no casual clothes appropriate for the office. On the first Friday we showed up looking like we were going to rake leaves and milk cows. It was most embarrassing and humiliating to say the least. On top of that; the casual options at the time were pleated front khakis with button down collared dress shirts only followed up by cargo pants with buttoned down dress shirts—are you kidding?!
Fast forward to today and what we have learned by owning Atlas is that today’s modern guy wants to look business nice but be comfortable in the clothes he wears. We have shopped, conceptualized, designed and even given the clothing manufacturing community our findings but to absolute no avail. The current thinking in the manufacturing community is that guys do not shop, guys do not care what they wear, and that guys do not think about clothes. We couldn’t disagree more and after having door after door shut on us, we decided to create a line of business casual clothing exclusive to Atlas.
